Bridge The Gap Fundraiser
Fuels The Magic of MSC

The PTA's Bridge The Gap Fundraiser supports critical resources and programs that make MSC one of the most unique, exceptional public K-8 schools on the Upper West Side.

FAQs

1

Why Does a Public School Need to Fundraise?

The NYC Department of Education is designed to meet the minimal fundamental needs of our students. While MSC Teachers and Administration work diligently to make the most of their budgets, the PTA steps in to fund the majority of enrichment resources that elevate and define every student's educational journey.

3 Ways To Maximize Your Gift

Corporate Matching

Step 1

Find out if your employer offers a corporate match on the Corporate Match Directory. If you do not see your company listed, check with your HR department or ask the Bridge The Gap Committee (familygiving@friendsofmsc.org) to ask for you.

Step 2

Seek extended family giving by sharing the DONATE page with grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and close family friends for contributions of any size on behalf of our students.

Step 3

Remember that your talent and time count as much as your financial gift. Send an email to any member of the Executive Board if you are willing to write a grant or organize a fundraising event to expand your family’s contribution. If you have other ideas, we want to hear those too! Please reach out to copres@friendsofmsc.org.

"It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, speaking, and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Lenape (Lenapehoking) who were violently displaced as a result of European settler colonialism over the course of 400 years. The Lenape are a diasporic people that remain closely connected with this land and are its rightful stewards. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all.”
